My Favorite Mistake

My favorite mistake was to gamble in 6th grade with dice. It was me and four other friends. I had a total of 5 dollars, we were playing for money. We started to play during recess by some basketball courts. Even during class we all played. For us it was just like a fun game to play.
The next day during recess we all got together in a circle and started to play. We were in our 7th game when my friend Andrew said “The yard duty keeps on looking at us weird.” David which was my other friend said “They can’t do nothing were just playing with dice.” We all agreed with him and continued to play.
The yard duty walked up to our little circle and said “What are you all doing?” we just responded by saying playing dice. She saw the money and told us if we were playing for money. David said “Yes we are.” She told me because I was the one that was counting my money to follow her. She took me to the vice principal’s office.
I didn’t know what was happening. Once we got to his office she explained everything we were doing. The vice principal told me if I knew that gambling with money while being under 18 was illegal. I just looked at him and said no. He said who had brought the dice, I told him I didn’t know. He told me to take the money I had out and give it to him. He told me he was going to be easy with me and wasn’t going to call my parents I felt happy, but sad at the same time because he was going to keep my money.
At last I learned not to gamble with money especially under the age of 18 especially during school. I told my friends the next day of everything that had happened. Since that day we never brought dice to school anymore.

Leopard Man

Society should not judge others on how theyare of act. In the Sociology of

Leopard Man by Logan Fevs he says "Normally, I find myself unimpressed with

individuals who radically change their apperance throught extreme tattoing, piercing,

hair, mutilations, etc: The author is saving that people just do it for attention. I

think people have their own rights and shouldn't be judged!

The authors comment is that peoplee discourage other people from their unique

ideas. In the story people think that the Leopard Man is a freak, The author wants

people to feel free. It would relieve us from stress.

World Literature Blog

1. Briefly summarize the plot of the novel you read according to the elements of plot you've learned in past courses (exposition, inciting incident, etc.). Explain how the narrative fulfills the author's purpose (based on your well-informed interpretation of same) Over a year passed since Omri was able to bring plastic toys to life. Omri was happy by a prize he won for a story about his adventures with the cupboard. Omri wants to share the news with Little Bear. Omri and his friend Patrick find and bring to life a small plastic nurse who saves Little Bear. but the tiny Iroquois chief is determined to return to his village, which is under attack from the French. Omri and Patrick assemble an army plastic Indians and equip them with modern machine guns. The Indians are damaged, and Little Bear depressed by his failure withdraws until he learns of his new son and of Omri's successful story. This is a beautifully recreating the magic of the original while adding a darker thread of reality.
2. Succinctly describe the theme of the novel. Avoid cliches. The theme of the story is that anything can happen by magic.

3. Describe the author's tone. Include a minimum of three excerpts that illustrate your point(s). the authors tone throughout the novel is emotional then after it didnt really seemed it changed.

4. Describe a minimum of five literary elements/techniques (figurative language/symbolism/imagery/ allusions, etc.) you observed that strengthened your understanding of the author's purpose, the text's theme and/or your sense of the tone.

Antigone Compare and Contrast

In Antigone by Sophocles, Antigone and Creon both get in arguments. Creon is the King of the Thebes and Antigone is a daughter of Oedipus a former king. Some of these characters will get hurt physically and emotionally, some will also lose their
Families.
In scene 2.147 Antigone says "No, you have no right to say so. You would not help me, and I will not have you help me". Antigone shows loyalty to be family by saying
That she was the only one their when’s she buried Polyneices. In scene 2, Antigone
Says that it was not the gods proclamation, that the final Justice that rules the
World makes no such laws. Antigone is saying that she doesn't care about the laws,
she’s not going to follow them. In Scene 1.19 Creon says "I am aware, of course, that
no one can expect complete loyalty from his subjects until he has been tested in
Office". Creon says that everyone is to get the same exact loyalty. In Scene 2 Creon
is not as loyal to the family because he is only loyal to the state.
The similarities between Creon and Antigone are on how they both feel about Antigone dying. Scene 2.6 Antigone says "Creon what more do you want than my death?" In Antigone is trying to tell Creon he already has her right there with her to kill hero does he want more. Antigone begs Creon to kill her already, she already did what
She had to do. In Scene 2.107 Creon says "Nothing that gives me everything". All
Creon wants is her death. Creon tells Antigone you are alone on that opinion because
Antigone is trying to say that she wasn’t the only one there when they buried
Polyneices, but all Creon wants is for Antigone to suffer.
At last Antigone had been taken to the vault to suffer. They gave her food for a while After that she was done. Ismene deserved to be punished by Creon. She had confessed to Creon that she was their.
